The Toronto Saracens celebrated our 70th anniversary at this year’s Annual Alumni Brunch, bringing together past and present members, supporters, and friends. We are immensely grateful to everyone who joined us to mark this occasion, share stories, and celebrate the lasting spirit of the Saracens.
As part of the festivities, we raised a glass in “A Toast to Saracens 70th Anniversary,” honoring this year’s team and recognizing the longstanding tradition and community that defines our club.
Honouring Exceptional Dedication: Lifetime Awards for Clay Dight and Steve Townend
During the event, we were privileged to present honorary life member awards to two individuals whose commitment to the Saracens has left an indelible mark: Clay Dight and Steve Townend.
-
- Clay Dight was recognized for his many decades of unwavering dedication to the Saracens, both on and off the field. As a player, coach, and steadfast supporter, Clay’s boundless energy and enthusiasm on the sidelines have inspired generations of Saracens. His contributions reflect the true spirit of our club, and we are thrilled to honour his impact with this award.
-
- Steve Townend was celebrated for his five years of exceptional leadership as President of the Toronto Saracens. Throughout his tenure, Steve oversaw the rebuilding of the club and managed the significant transition involving the sale of Fletcher’s Fields. His vision and dedication have helped shape the future of our club, and we’re grateful for the strong foundation he has laid for the years ahead.
The Toronto Saracens 70th anniversary brunch was not only a celebration of the club’s past but a look towards a promising future. Thank you to everyone who attended, shared stories, and made this day truly memorable. Here’s to many more years of camaraderie, competition, and community!
